Something incredible happens when a girl laces up a pair of running shoes. She’s committed to a goal. She’s dedicated to a common purpose shared by others. She feels pride and confidence…traits she’ll carry with her for life. This is the essence of Girls on the Run.

Girls on the Run of Northwest Michigan is a non-profit prevention program for girls in the 3rd through 8th grades. Our mission is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Our innovative, experiential program combines training for a 5K running event, with self-esteem enhancing lessons that encourage positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual, and physical development.
